2019’s biggest young Catholic Summer Festival! Walsingham, a 5-day camping festival run by young people for young people. It is about us discovering who we are as we come face-to-face with the God who made us, knows us and loves us.
Walsingham is the highlight of our year. It is an opportunity to go on an incredible journey with the young church. Yes, a geographical journey to the corner of Norfolk, but also the interior journey towards God. Anyone between the ages of 16 - 35 and families are welcome, even the youngest of pilgrims. Any young person of the Catholic faith, whether it’s thriving or spluttering at the moment, can explode into life surrounded by so many other young believers at this festival. Anyone of any faith or none with a question, a spark, an openness to seek out answers is especially welcome.
"Youth 2000 showed me that there was another way to live my life, that I didn't have to settle for mediocrity, and that that I can live in complete fullness every minute of the day. We have a relationship with the LIVING God, the one who put me and this whole world into existence humbles himself to have a chat with me?! That can never not be exciting." Daisy
"What moves me at youth 2000 is the sheer amount of people willing to give there lives to Jesus Christ. Youth 2000 has impacted my life, by bringing me closer to my friends and closer to God at the same time. Through praise and worship it has created a bond in my life which cannot be broken." Gabriel
"Walsingham festival has been a real game changer, reflecting back on my highlight from last year I was captivated by the main talks. They really brought to life God’s purpose and intention for us as young people seeking something greater than us through the richness of the church. Fr Conrad’s (CFR) talk on the Holy Spirit blew me away challenging me where I was at, speaking profoundly to my heart." Imogen
Youth 2000 has brought me back home. All I know is that my family expanded and I'm having a great time! It's kind of like living life in technicolour. :) Babs
"What moves me? Knowing that God is already doing great things! Then, comes the sudden realisation that, that's not even it! We have not fully comprehended and seen the 'Big Picture'. It's exciting to know that God has a purpose for me, that He is going to use this faith I have, to build His kingdom here on Earth, just so that His children may have a taste of what our citizenship in heaven is going to be like. Youth 2000 was a vessel for this great commission! It was the time I finally gave my consent to God, answered His call and gave my Yes! My life has never been the same. It's truly been a roller coaster journey.... where the only way, is up!" Ariana
Youth 2000 is amazing for trusting young people to lead, it was my first real place of responsibility and it gave me that in the context of the faith and my friends, which just gave me a real heart and passion for the church. It also surrounded me with people who were seeking and sharing answers and that was indispensable for me as I was growing up, reason and faith together. Without it and the mentors and friend it gave me, I don’t think I would still be Catholic. Isaac
Youth 2000 has been instrumental to plugging me into a vast network of devout Catholics. A community that continually aspires to place Jesus at the heart of its intentions, with a central focus on the sacraments, particularly in the Eucharist and Reconciliation, and devotion to Our Lady. Youth 2000 beautifully provides a rich and inviting platform for young people of little or no faith to enter themselves into the life of the Church, to help guide them into a deep and lasting relationship with Jesus Christ. Michael
"My Faith gives answers to the most important questions in life in a way nobody/nothing else can; showing there really is beauty, goodness and justice to be found in the world and in all hearts.
Youth 2000 has been like a gust of fresh air into my spiritual life. In the retreats I've learned to approach Christ with a rejuvenated heart and I always find it humbling and edifying encountering so many young people who love God each with their own different charismas and having come from so many different paths in life."
